The Challenge
The hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system of a Railbus was hitting up to 180 0F at the hardest pull on the hill which was a big concern to us since the manufacturer manual called for the highest temperature of 170 0F.
The Polytron Solution
Polytron MTC was added to the hydraulic oil (5% by volume).
The temperature of the oil when climbing up the hill ran 12 to 15 0F cooler which allowed to make the hard pull on this hill without worrying of getting too hot.
